Information on the course content

Basic paddling technique & safety course

The basic course is aimed at beginners and paddlers who either want to learn basic techniques or refine their existing skills. In a relaxed and safe environment on Lake Krakow, you will learn the basic paddling techniques and how to re-enter the water solo after capsizing.
The training takes place in your own kayak. Kayaks for hire can also be requested.
In the extension course (2 days), the knowledge learnt is applied practically and realistically on a joint kayak tour

Course contents

- Material science
- Paddle grip/sitting position
- Active paddling feet
- All paddle strokes
- Edges and supports
- Getting in/out
- Handling equipment in the water
- Solo re-entry
- Planned capsize

Basic course two-person kayak

Paddling in pairs offers many advantages. Together you are faster, always have one hand free for photos and other useful things on a tour. In this course, you will learn how to optimise your paddling technique and coordinate all processes and tasks so that everything seems to come from a single source. You will also practise getting back in after a joint capsize.
The course takes place in your own kayak.

Course contents

- Loading and trimming the kayak
- Paddling technique and tasks in a two-person kayak
- Communication
- Getting in/out
- Getting back in after capsizing

One-day roller training course

The quickest way to save yourself after capsizing is the Eskimo or Greenland roll. This training day is all about that. You learn the sequence of movements and do lots of exercises that you can continue later on your own. Not everyone learns the roll in one day. But it has happened before.

Course contents

- Movement sequence and posture
- Footwork
- Edging and supporting
- Orientation under water

Individual kayak training

In a relaxed atmosphere, we will address your personal paddling requirements on this day. Whether you want to improve your technique or learn something new to expand your possibilities. After consultation, we will organise the training according to your teaching wishes. Partner or group training can also be organised.

Possible topics:
- Re-entry & partner rescue
- Roller training
- Surfski and wing paddle training
- Two-person kayak
