Shipping of bulky goods

We ship hardboards, kayaks, tandem kayaks, and extra-long surfskis. We carefully inspect the products before shipping and then package them very securely so they can safely make the long journey to you.

We first use cushioning materials, followed by sturdy cardboard (Safety Box). We aim to package in a resource-efficient way and therefore also use materials that have already been used - provided they are clean.

Shipping costs for bulky goods within Germany and Austria:

The flat rates we quote for shipping costs are not the actual prices. The freight carrier sets these individually based on the daily rate and delivery address, and they average 50% more than the flat rate we quote. This means we cover about half the cost.

Shipping bulky goods to EU countries:

We routinely and safely ship to most European countries, including islands. Since prices can vary considerably, we request a quote individually and then coordinate it with you. To provide a quote including shipping, we need your postal code and city.

Delivery time and delivery:

Freight shipping within Germany takes 2-4 business days. The freight carrier delivering the package will call you 1-2 days before delivery to coordinate it with you. Shipping to other EU countries can take 6 to 10 business days.

Shipping insurance

We ship your order with insurance. This covers damage incurred during transit. When the shipment arrives, inspect the outside of the package for damage. If you notice any damage to the packaging, photograph it before opening the package and ask the delivery person to document the damage to the packaging as well.

Thanks to the excellent padding and packaging inside the box, damage is usually limited to the outside of the box. Any damage to the goods themselves must be reported to us immediately after delivery. Please send us photos that clearly document the damage. 

Returns and refunds for bulky goods such as kayaks, surfskis and hardboards

For returns of bulky goods, the customer is responsible for the return shipping costs. The customer is also responsible for ensuring the goods are carefully and securely packed to prevent breakage. The goods will be inspected upon receipt. Acceptance will be refused for goods that are improperly packed or damaged. We recommend arranging return shipping with transport insurance and using the original packaging.

Returns of used items are excluded. Test centers are available throughout Germany for testing purposes. For online orders placed without contacting us first, we assume that the customer is familiar with the product or, if unsure about its features, has sought information at one of the test centers or at a test event.

For our Swiss customers who live near Basel, we recommend collecting kayaks or higher-priced goods with a net value of €1,000 or more from our store in Gewerbepark Breisgau, just 40 km from Basel, near the A5 at Heitersheim. We issue import forms for VAT refunds.
